This book is all about inter-religious harmony. A careful examination of the core message of the major religions in India – Hinduism, Islam and Christianity – shows that they do not foster violence; on the contrary, they promote peace and harmony. The fact of the matter is that people misuse religion in order to promote violence. This book, essentially a result of the interdisciplinary studies carried out on the thorny issue, does three important things: first, it unequivocally confirms that most of the violence perpetrated in the name of religion actually has non-religious causes; second, after showing that violence is largely the result of injustice it pleads for a culture of non-violence and advocates prudent pacifism as a viable option for humans today; third, it motivates an open-minded reader to reconsider one’s religious beliefs and to practise a religion that truly fosters an abiding sense of love, justice and unity in the world.
