Church and People in New Guinea

A Century ago New Guinea, the World’s largest island, was almost unknown to the white man. It had an evil reputation as the home of dangerous cannibals. Today in the territory of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of New Guinea there is in existence an independent and self-governing Church with nearly 200,000 baptized members.
