This book is the second of a four-volume festschrift in honor of one of the stalwarts of sociology in India, Professor Yogendra Singh. It covers the topics of education, religion, and creativity. The first section of the book examines the state of higher education in a globalizing India, the decline of the university as a public institution, and the trends of youth sexuality. A case study of a school near the India-Pakistan border also raises the hope of peace in the overall context of civil-military relations.
