Postcolonial Tribal Theology: Reading Poverty in Luke 6: 21 is a work that attempts to re-read the theology of poverty in Luke 6: 21 to unmask the imperial overtone within the text owing to the Sitz-in-Leben with which the text was composed. The theology of poverty located in Luke 6: 21 had been interpreted in the Christian faith tradition as a message of God’s vindication of the poor and the judgment of the wicked. Traditional interpretation has negated the imperial connotation that exists within the theology of poverty due to the imperial situation within which the text emerged
