This book is a remarkable attempt to synthesise the theological and spiritual heritage of the Orthodox church and its witness and vision in our contemporary context, especially in India. This is particularly noteworthy since there seems to be a popular misconception that Orthodox faith is too narrowly doctrinal and archaic, and does not lend itself to address the burning issues of our times. The word orthodox is usually used pejoratively in ordinary English as a synonym for conservative and unaccomodative positions. The author has a style of naturally and smothly connecting “the faith of our fathers” with the many issues that seem to unsettle our lives in the present world.
