Women in India: Negotiating Body, Reclaiming Agency

Theology can become rather futile and even irrelevant if it does not emerge from the day-to-day lives of people. It needs to be answerable to the Church and society and must fulfil its noble mission of contributing towards the transformation of the present order of the Church and society. By identifying the ideological underpinnings that emerge from the perceptions of women, this book gives possible future directions in the filed of theology. It also aims to bring awareness among oppressed women and enable them to deconstruct age-old, oppressive perceptions and construct their identity as women.
