Mariological Thought of Mar Jacob of Serugh (451-521)

This book is a doctoral thesis submitted to Pontificium Institutum Orientalium Studiorum, Rome for the degree of Doctorate in Theology. this book is an attempt to study the Mariological perspectives of Mar Jacob of Serugh a great church father of the Syrian Church, who lived in the fifth and sixth centuries. Excerpts of his mariological hymns are used in many oriental churches. Hence this study will be useful to understand the symbolism and typological expressions of the mariological hymns used in oriental churches.
